Highlights from Mindtrek conference – day3:
Panel: The social media side of mainstream
Timo Vuorensola & Atte Joutsen (Star Wreck Studios Ltd.), Jouni Kantonen (Red Tail Media), Antti Seppänen (Intervisio), Damien Marchi (Fremantle).
The panel was running around new media & mainstream media. It was interesting but I would have rather pushed the conversation a bit further, trying to brake the line of common topics about which we daily discuss online.
So I’ll relaunch my thoughts here on my blog to hear what’s your take on this…
For example: What’s the today’s role of advertisement? And… will the future still be about advertisement and sponsorships? What about ROI…what’s behind new ‘digital’ ROI? And what about new revenue models… it’s ok to make users fall in love with you / your content / your brand / your services… but which are the key factors that can leverage new business models?
Here’s the Jaiku back-channel discussion about the panel.
Pekka Pohjakallio (Nokia OVI): The Context Sensitive Internet
Discussion. I’ll release video tracks on VMC. Stay tuned!
Jim Sink (Microsoft Live, Software, and Studios): The Trial – Your best marketing tool
Nice presentation about user experience. Yep… Jim focused on the gaming scenario but I see the same approach in social media adoption…good points to keep in mind to avoid losing people during the learning process.
Back-channel discussion here.
