Trough of Disillusionment – Howlett, Charman, Booth

Episode: VMC #138 – Trough of Disillusionment – Howlett, Charman, Booth

Few days ago in a meeting I ended up talking about how certain technologies/services fail to meet expectations. The “Trough of Disillusionment” didn’t seem to ring any bell among the meeting’s participants so I thought to talk about it on my blog calling in my ‘digital hermano’ Dennis Howlett (@dahowlett) to say something more about it.

This is a video that I recorded last September in Leeds (UK) during the Solo-Camp. Joining the conversation: Suw Charman (@suw, Strange Attractor), Stephanie Booth (@stephtara, Climb to the Stars), Matt Edgar (@mattedgar), Solo-Camp participants.

I suggest you to check out also this excellent post written by Neville Hobson (@jangles) in which he links to the 2008 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies published by Gartner.
