I quit, I just can’t take it anymore

Share

Episode: VMC #137 – I quit, I just can’t take it anymore

It has been a great ride… but I can’t go on like this.

People around me just don’t get it. They don’t get the value and the passion I put in my work, in my life, in my career, no matter what…

  • no matter how much time I spend telling brands about the importance of being present or at least listening to what’s going on in this digital landscape
  • no matter how many blog posts I publish to share my experience or showcase successful stories about who actually made it
  • no matter how many episodes I will release on my media channel trying to rise the awareness on the fact that today communication is probably more important than ever… they just don’t get it.

They prefer watching, listening, sitting and waiting that things will change or will get better thanks to magic beans or free sliced water melons. In this social media era the world seems to be suddenly full of experts that unfortunately in the end just turn out to be carpetbaggers.

I know that it’s tough to deal with ‘traditional minds‘ but I’m sorry I simply can’t ‘lose my life’ on this…

I quit, I just can’t take it any more.

A special thanks goes to the ‘few‘ that believed in me for real and that saw potential in my ideas. I wish to all of you to make it through these tough times we are living in.

The unstreamed life is no life at all.

    Andrea,

It’s about time. You really didn’t add much value to the conversation and we are better off with your departure.

    Good riddance.

    Joseph

PS Considering it’s April 1st, please ignore the above message as I will ignore yours :)

    Take care whatever happens man.

Do it for you and no other. you are an early adopter of so many things.

The rest of the world is just a bit slow.. ;)

    Peace man.

@Christian: Agree, being a pioneer is not an easy job… but it’s easier when you have a good group of friends that makes you understand that you are on the right path.
      Thanks Christian!

Don’t loose faith – it’s difficult – short-term changes are smaller and long-term changes bigger than we expect. History always repeats itself. 30 years ago I tried to fight on behalf of personal computers, 25 years ago for LAN’s, nearly 20 years ago for internet, today it’s the same with some other new innovations.

    Andrea, you can’t quit… you’re fired!

(sorry you did not get the memo).

    • Andrea Vascellari 1 April 2009 at 11:31 pm Permalink

@Mitch: No… I’m not like Julien that doesn’t seem to notice memos..especially the ones sent by Google about the latest ‘behavior tracking’ etc. (referring to Media Hacks ;) )

So I guess that I need ’six pixels of separation’ on how to get fired as a CEO or something like that.. Do you think you could drop them in the next episode of SPOS? (hehhh ;) )

Dear Andrea, that was the kind of 1st of April fool joke that I’m not used to. Especially when I first just watched the video without voice. Anyway, after a phone call with Sakari and the second watch with voice and comments I got the relief. You are almost too good actor…

    OMG Andrea,

I was almost going to pen off this heart felt letter on knowing the frustrations of balancing all the responsibilities of life around you while finding the time to engage in social media conversations and content creation online.

One of the most amazing things about you is that spirit of passion and life you have and I was almost heartbroken to think that took a huge blow….thankfully not.

You got me good (and I am sure others) for April Fool’s with your own personal take on the Rick Roll. Thanks and here’s to you never giving up!
