Medical Education in Second Life

Share

In my opinion this is a terrific example that demonstrate the value of virtual worlds like Second Life. Bertalan Meskó blogged about it on his www.scienceroll.com.

Now the e-Learning Faculty of Imperial College London created a spectacular and useful Second Life tool in medical education.

Activities that in the real world would be expensive and difficult to do become easy and certainly cheaper if done virtually. Results? Similar to the ones you would get in the real world.

I’m interested in knowing your thoughts after watching this video…

Like I said on your blog…interesting post the one you wrote about virtual knee surgery!
It’s impressive, web 2.0 and virtual worlds are offering countless possibilities to experiment, test and pilot… And it’s just starting, I think we’ll see more coming… we just need to overcome the main cultural/social roadblocks that at the beginning stop people from adopting these tools.
