PodCamp Toronto 2008
Yesterday I took part in the Social Media & Branding panel at PodCamp Toronto together with Mitch Canter, Laura Fitton and Mitch Joel who was joining via audio.
A big ‘Thank You!’ to all the organizers and especially to Connie Crosby, Dave Fleet, Eden Spodek and Jay Moonah who was moderating the panel!
The event was really well organized and what I think made it special was the live video stream accessible from this page. This live video stream was a great idea because it gave the possibility to lots of people to attend the event even if they were not physically present in Toronto. (Media archive available here)
A really nice moment during the panel was when Jay said that Joseph Jaffe was saing ‘Hi!’, probably Joseph was attending via live stream too. That gives you the idea of how nice and ‘global atmosphere’ there was at the event. (By the way, Joseph what you thought about the event?)
Especially when we talk about social media and branding, if there is one thing that starts to become pretty much clear is that we are going global so that’s why I was really happy to participate and bring the European point of view to the discussion we had in Toronto.
The great value of what we talked about in the panel gave me also good inspiration (like it usually happens to me on nich events like this..) for future posts that I’ll publish here on my blog and on my media channel (VMC) too.
For the panel video call we used oovoo. How this worked? Well! Here’s a screenshot of my screen during the panel, by clicking on the following picture you’ll go directly to Flickr where I added couple of notes to explain how this was working

PodCamp Toronto…loved it! See you next year, and who knows…maybe not virtually but in our ‘First Life’ in Toronto!
