Project after project, I realize that it is a small (too small) number of people who actually put their heart & soul into what they do.
The large majority doesn’t care. They do something because they have to or because they kind of like it enough to keep doing it until they get bored and drop it.
The only truth is that many people are not 100% in love with what they do.
So my suggestion is: Quit right now and do something you love more than anything else, otherwise your lack of commitment will just keep causing never ending problems for the people who work with you. Period.

Unfortunatley, my next move to “something I love” is being held up by a huge bureacracy called the federal government. Meanwhile, I’ve been asked to write a communications plan for an organziation that could be broken up. I’m in a quandry because I have to do this plan. I don’t want to, but that’s the order and “what I’m getting paid to do.” Any ideas to jump-start and move on this are appreciated. I must admit I have procrastinated.
Interesting point, however unfortunately there is a problem with that point of view, especially i think in the western world, in that not many people really know what their dream would be, and even more would hate it if they actually achieved it. I include myself in some of that. I think that this type of conversation opens to a much larger conversation about the nature of society as a whole
